Internal Referral Workflow
How the Internal Referral workflow works?
-
Step 1: Fill Profile as Internal Referral & Set Up Pricing
As an employee at a company, you can create an internal referral profile on MockSphere. Verify your company email, set up your referral offers with available roles (Software Engineer, ML Engineer, Data Scientist, etc.) and job types (Full-time, Part-time, Internship, Contract).
Two-Tier Pricing System:- Interview Fee: Set a fee (typically $1-10, or 100-1000 premium points) that candidates pay when they get an interview. This fee is deducted when the interview is scheduled and confirmed.
- Success Bonus: Set the provider bonus that is paid only when the candidate is successfully hired. Default is 10,000 points (\$100 USD) for you (provider). Platform fee is automatically 25% of the provider bonus (default: 2,500 points = \$25 USD). You can customize the provider bonus amount. (100 premium points = $1 USD)
Tip: Go to Jobs → Profile as Internal Referral to set up your referral offers. -
Step 2: Request Referral & Reserve Interview Fee
Candidates (students, professionals, etc.) can browse available referral offers and request referrals. They submit their resume, cover letter, LinkedIn profile, and job posting URL. The system checks if they have enough premium points for the Interview Fee at this stage, but points are only deducted when the interview is scheduled and confirmed (Step 6). This protects candidates - they only pay if they actually get an interview.
Note: Success bonuses are not charged to candidates. They are paid by the platform when you successfully refer a candidate who gets hired.Tip: Browse offers at Jobs → Internal Referral and click "Request Referral" on any offer. -
Step 3: Approve Request
As a referral provider, you'll receive notification of new referral requests. Review the candidate's profile, resume, and application materials. You can accept, decline, or mark the request as "under review". When accepting, you can add a personal message to the candidate.Tip: View and manage requests at Jobs → Referral Requests Received.
-
Step 4: Internal Referral
Once you accept a referral request, you make an internal referral to your company. This involves submitting the candidate's information through your company's internal referral system. Update the status to "Submitted" when you've completed the internal referral process.
-
Step 5: Update Referral Status & Earn Success Bonuses
As the referral progresses, update the status on MockSphere:
- Interview Scheduled: When the company schedules an interview with the candidate. The candidate will confirm the interview, which triggers the Interview Fee deduction.
- Hired: When the candidate is successfully hired.
Important: You mark the status as "Hired", but success bonuses are only awarded after the candidate confirms they were actually hired. This verification prevents false claims and ensures fairness:
- You mark status as "Hired" → Candidate receives notification
- Candidate confirms they were hired → Success bonuses are automatically awarded
- You (provider) receive your Success Bonus (default: 10,000 premium points = $100 USD)
- The platform receives its fee (default: 2,500 premium points = $25 USD)
- Rejected: If the candidate is not selected. No success bonuses are paid, but the Interview Fee was already deducted when the interview was confirmed.
Verification System: The two-step verification (provider marks as "hired" + candidate confirms) ensures that success bonuses are only awarded for genuine hires, protecting both providers and the platform from false claims. -
Step 6: Confirm Interview & Pay Interview Fee
When an interview is scheduled (Step 5), the candidate receives a notification. They can confirm the interview on MockSphere, which triggers the Interview Fee deduction from their premium points. This ensures candidates only pay when they actually get an interview opportunity.
Candidates can also ask follow-up questions and communicate with the referral provider through the platform. -
Email/Call
After the internal referral (Step 4), the company may directly contact the candidate via email or phone to schedule interviews and discuss the position. This communication happens outside the MockSphere platform.
Referral Pricing Structure
Interview Fee
Paid by the candidate when they get an interview. Typically $1-10 (100-1000 premium points).
- Deducted when interview is scheduled and confirmed
- Protects candidates - they only pay if they get an interview
- Can be set to 0 for free referrals
Success Bonus
Paid only when the candidate is successfully hired. Split between provider and platform.
- Provider Bonus: Default 10,000 premium points ($100 USD) - you earn this (customizable)
- Platform Fee: Automatically 25% of Provider Bonus (default: 2,500 premium points = $25 USD)
- Automatically awarded when candidate confirms they were hired
- You only set the Provider Bonus - Platform Fee is calculated automatically
- Exchange rate: 10 premium points = $1 USD (for referral bonuses)
Important:
The Interview Fee is paid by candidates and deducted when they confirm an interview.
Success Bonuses are paid by the platform and only awarded when a candidate is successfully hired.
This two-tier system ensures fair compensation for both providers and candidates.

-

-

-
Step 3: Interviewer Reviews & Accepts Requests
Interviewers receive notification of new interview requests. They can review the candidate's profile and either accept or decline the request. When accepting, they can add notes or ask clarifying questions.Tip: View requests at Jobs → Interview Requests Received.
-
Step 4: Conduct Mock Interview
The mock interview is conducted at the scheduled time. This can be done via video call, phone, or in-person (depending on the arrangement). The interviewer provides feedback on the candidate's performance.
-
Step 5: Provide Feedback & Update Status
